Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence is your home, and we want you to stay here with us, for as long as you want. Many seniors move into retirement homes because they are lonely and want to spend time in the company of friends, or because they are tired of cooking or shoveling snow. We find that when they first move into Ashley Oaks, most of our residents do not have any care needs, and if they do, those needs are small – they may need help managing their medications, or they may need help with showering or their laundry. At Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence, these services are included in your monthly fee.<\/span> Of course, as years go by, some residents require more help and support, and we have team members that can provide the care that they need. Our director of wellness is a nurse, and she regularly assesses our residents and recommends the type of care that they might need. As long as our nurse feels that it is safe for you and for our home that you continue to live at Ashely Oaks, we will do our best to provide all the care you need, without having you move from the suite that is your home.<\/span> There are many things that we can do for you in the privacy of your suite, that will allow you to stay with us, in your home. We can help you get dressed in the morning, we can help you transfer from your bed to a wheelchair, we can help you with any of your activities of daily living<\/a>. At the time of the assessment, our nurse will let you know if there is an extra fee for the extra help that you need, and it will be based on the amount of time our team spends with you each day.<\/span> If the care required is too complex, and we feel that it isn’t safe for you (or for our team) to provide this care at Ashley Oaks, we will support you and your family in finding alternative accommodations and will be very sad to see you leave.<\/span> Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence is your home, and we want you to stay here with us, for as long as you want.
